I need to leave the house, should I wake the baby?

FTM so clueless! I need to go out and do my food shop but my 4 week old baby is sleeping, I know he has a full wet nappy.

Should I change him and wake him up before putting him in the car seat, wait for him to wake naturally before setting off or just put him in the car seat asleep but with a full nappy? I'll be out for about an hour.

Help!

Wake him, change him and head out. It will be fine!

Where is he sleeping? Is it likely he'll wake when you move him anyway?

Katescurios · 22/02/2018 11:34

Change him and go out, you might even get him changed without him fully waking up.

I’d change and head out. He may wake, he may not but you need food shopping!

Change him and go out.

Change him and go out. He's so tiny, he'll fall asleep again in no time. Don't worry about it.

PonderLand · 22/02/2018 11:36

You def need to change him before you go out. A leaking nappy mid food shop would be a pita. I'd try and change w/o waking him up, so do it in the basket/crib. Then again maybe I'm forgetting how likely it is they'll pee all over Grin Then move to car seat.

wait for him to wake naturally before setting off

So you don’t need to go right now? Just read a book/take a nap while he finishes his, then change and go. Don’t wake him if you don’t actually need to.

iwasjustabouttosaythat - I was just about to say that! Wink

Don't wake, let him wake naturally!!!! Unless time critical of course.

I would go later when’s he’s woken up.

Thanks everyone!

I needed to go before lunch really, as he is harder to handle in the pm for some reason! Luckily he actually woke up 2 mins after I made this thread so I changed him and off we went.
