Size 7 nappies on a 16 month old

My poor little boy keeps waking in the night having leaked through his size 6+ pampers baby dry nappies.

I need to move him up a size as they are becoming a bit snug and I think this is the reason for the leakage. He's a big boy and is in 3 year olds clothes at the moment as well.

I'm so worried that he's gonna out grow the size 7 in no time. We just seem to be getting through the sizes very quickly. What are my options after this? I can't potty train him as he's too young.

I guess my question is, can anybody reccomend any nappies that are bigger generally? Not too expensive. Also do they even make nappies past size 7? Are pull up pants as good? Or are they a different entity altogether?

Any advice or recomendations you can give would be much appreciated.

Oh yeah, my tall nearly six yr old only just starting objecting to nappies last week and we moved him onto night time pull ups. He was in size six pampers until then, so I don’t see at all how he can be smaller than a baby.

You don't need to close the tabs to the centre of the nappy at all, just so that it is closed.
My DS is just about to turn 3 and has just started using 6+ at night, he is huge!
I thought we needed to go up to 6+ much earlier, but he was actually leaking because the nappy was too big, I'd be very surprised if 6+ is the right size at 16 months. My DS has always been above 98 centile.

Size 7 would fit my SN 8 year old. Just to put that into perspective. It does sound odd!

What about cloth nappies? Or cloth boosters added inside disposable nappy? Save the environment and help your purse in the long run too. Could it be your son is drinking too much for the nappy to hold?

Came across this thread when googling.
What nasty patronising comments.

From a mum whose young but tall and big child fits into size 7 nappies, shock horror.
