Was your second baby born earlier or later than your first (as in gestation) ?

Just trying to get an idea really. Dc1 born on due date. Complications with birth so dc2 is booked in for a csec however this is quite late at 39+4 (although pretty certain I'll actually be 40 weeks based on ovulation sticks and sex dates!).

So just curious really as to if second babies tend to come earlier? !

1st child 40+1 (EMCS)
2nd child 37+1 (should’ve been planned CS at 39 weeks but waters broke so had CS that day)

Dc1 was 11 days late and dc2 was 6 days late.

Mine were all similar gestation.

40+12
40+10
40+13

That extra day or two made all the difference, no. 3 was 3lb heavier than the 1st two!

DS1 - 10 days late
DD - 4 days early
DS2 - 4days late

If I ever had a fourth, it would have to come 10 days early for symmetry's sake!

First a week early, 2nd a week late. He’s still a lazy little so and so!

First was 2 weeks late, second was 3 weeks early- I was gutted, I’d only had a week off work and nothing was ready as we assumed it would be another long wait. Knowing what his personality is like now he’s 9 he was always going to arrive at his convenience and not mine

Later - DS1 was 34 weeks and DS2 was 39 weeks.

First born 39+1, although I went into labour at 39+0.

Second born 39+0.

I'm glad I didn't go to 40 weeks the second time as I had it in my head the baby would arrive at 39 weeks all along. I even predicted the exact date!

Dc1- 34
dc2- 35 + 6
dc 2 & 3 - 30 + 1

Dc1 - 38+5
Dc2- 37+4

Looks like it's completely unpredictable!

First - 41+1
Second - 37
Third - 41+1

1 - 40+2 induced due to hypertension
2 - 40+2 spontaneous labour
3 - 39+5 induced due to pre eclampsia

Mine got later and later

Dd 40+4
Da1 40+15
Ds2 40+16 (cut out eventually)

DC1 40+1
DC2 39+2

Dc1 was 18 days early and Dc2 was 9 days early

Dc 1 6 days late
Dc 2 1 day late

DC1 born on due date.
Waiting on DC2 who is now 40+3. Those 3 days have made me fed up already, fingers crossed not too much longer.

1st overdue and induced
2nd 36 weeks

@WhyTheHeckMe I am in a similar position as I was dated a few days ahead and am booked in for a CS at 39+1. I have a high number of risk factors and expected to be booked in for 38 weeks so I am a bit worried about what will happen if I go into spontaneous labour.

DS was born by CS at 38+5, after 4 days of failed induction - he definitely wasn't ready to be born but this pregnancy feels very different.
