Wise mums: do I need this?

I'm finding it hard to figure out if this would be a sensible purchase or a waste of money. Tommee Tippee nappy bin. You have to buy 'replacement cassettes' for it, which are not at all cheap

The angel care one is better but actually with child no.2 I just have a small cheap bathroom bin next to my bed that I empty every morning.

We had one for DS1 which we rarely used. Haven't bothered for DS2. Save your money - it's definitely something you could manage without, unless you're in a flat with no easy access to an outside bin.

I loved mine and used it until he was potty trained.

I used a small bucket with a tight lid when I lived in a flat, and put the nappies in nappy bags. It had a good seal on it and held smells in well, it was like the ones in the photo. The bucket was handy because it meant the main bin didn't have a poo smell and it was easy to take to the outside bin and empty. Those nappy units don't contain the stink in my opinion, and they're expensive and a bit of a faff.

Now that I have a house with a garden I just lob the bagged nappies outside then do a sweep when its convenient.

We had one but only because we don't have a wheelie bin - it's old fashioned black sacks in a bin
So pooey nappies would have to hang around in the house in the kitchen bin until bin day

It's great and there is no poo smell inside

But if we had a wheelie bin that we could put nappies straight into, we probably wouldn't have bothered with one

If you're asking "do I need it?", you are trying to justify buying it which means you do NOT need it.
Step away from the junk that will litter your house and just mean another vin which needs cleaning.

Bought one, never used it (2 kids).
Silly me.

Amazon are currently offering this for free if you buy £10 of baby products. It comes with a couple of cassettes so you can see if it's for you before shelling out for the refills.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't be without mine!
