Is it wrong to put the telly on to give yourself some peace?

I have a 21 month old who is struggling to come to terms with our new arrival who is now 8 weeks old.
I'm just at my wits end trying to entertain him when I'm so tired or calm him down when he throws a wobbler every time I pick up the baby for a feed.
The only way I can get some peace and try and grab 5 mins to make cup of tea or feed myself is by sticking the telly on. Do you think this is bad? Sort home it stays on for over an hour and he is glued to it, I feel like a bad parent.

I always used bf as an excuse for TV on and cuddles with toddler +new baby!!
Books or a sticker book always helped a grizzly /anti - baby toddler too!!

Isn’t that exactly what tv is for Smile? Don’t worry about it.

Relax. You have a newborn and toddler. It is called survival.

Not wrong. I speak from experience in saying that when you have a young toddler and baby you just do what you have to do to get through the first couple of years!

Thank you for making me feel better about it, I still feel quite bad just leaving him to watch telly but I don't know what else I can do 😬😬

As in tv is fine. Not no never put tv on. That would be mental

AntiHop · 03/01/2018 20:15

God no. I do that and I've only got 1 child!

Of course it’s not wrong! I have parked now 5 year old DS in front of the telly many many many times without even having the second baby excuse! Don’t worry.
