Are there any French or German speakers about? Nothing complicated...

I want to search Ebay in Europe for sandals for my dd2. Babelfish assures me that "sandals" is exactly the same in French and German. Surely not.

And accordig to my French dictionary, the same in French although they also have espidrilles.
