Whoever knew it would be so hard :( My now 7 month old was started early on solids before she turned 6 months. She took to it like a duck to water and by 6 1/2 months she was having 3x meals a day and would eat whatever my partner and i would have. The last 2 weeks have been a struggle. She has porridge for breakfast (tends to eat all of this.) refuses lunch i can barely get one spoonful in and is very faddy with tea. Its so fustrating. I dont want to give her jars or packets so please dont suggest this (or prepacked puffs etc.) Does anyone have any advice? Her schedule is below;

Breakfast - 7:30am
6oz bottle - 8:00am.
Morning bottle (6oz) - 11am
Lunch (that she refuses) 1:00-1:30pm
Mid afternoon bottle (6oz) 15:30pm
Tea - 18:30pm
Bedtime bottle (8oz) 19:45

Forget the spoon and do baby-led. Let her explore herself with different fruit, cooked veg etc. She's still little so doesn't matter if she's eating loads. Just let her get used to different textures and flavours by herself

Would you still mash the food a little and put on a tray in front of her? Then let her feed herself? And also offer finger foods

Just give her finger foods if she doesn't want to be spoon fed. And relax about it! She doesn't need 3 meals a day til about 9 months, she's still getting most of her nutrition from milk.

My DD is 7 months and is currently refusing to eat from a spoon despite having been completely fine with it. She's all about the finger foods! Toast fingers, bits of fruit and veg, cheese etc. She holds a whole banana and bites bits off (and then mushes the rest Grin)

I cut her bottles down from 8oz x5 a day so think I’m worried she’ll get hungry

Teething? I thought weaning was going well with dc2, it came a standstill when 6 teeth came through in less than six weeks.

My daughter gets really funny with food when her teeth are hurting. She will eat anything, so I can almost guarantee when she fussed it's that pain. Finger foods and I whizz her food up a little more to save her chomping.

Periods like this will happen on and off over the next 2 years! It's often teething, or a cold coming on, or sometimes you don't pin it down. Then after a few days or a week or two all back to normal. It's easy to say this but try not to get worried about it.
