mamas and papas primo viaggio car seat

Has anyone got one of these? What do u think of them? R they a good car seat? r they heavy?

There was a thread a few weeks ago in the products section about these and they were not popular (I hated mine)! I've tried to put a link below, but you'll have to paste it into the address bar as I can't make links work! The main complaint is that they are far too upright. Additionally, babies can grow out of them way before the advertised age (which I think is up to 15 months).

Which? gave the Primo Viaggio 51% in 2005 (it scored poorly on side impact protection).
In 2006 the tested the improved Primo Viaggio SIP which did better at 63%.
It is heavy though, and not cheap either. Have you checked if it will fit your car properly?

I hate ours because as crokky says, it's very heavy, too upright and DS has not got much growing room left in it at only 7 months. If we have another baby I will buy a different car seat.

It might be useful if you would get a lot of use out of plugging it into the pram/pushchair, but we have only done this a few times and it hasn't been worth the extra money we paid.
