Hi All

Could anyone please shed light on whether I am fretting unnecessarily or not?

My daughter started reception this year, and we have decided to throw her a birthday party, with predominantly school fiends asked. Out of 60 children we sent 15 invites. The rsvp cut off date was 2 weeks later. Somewhat disappointingly, to date I have only received one yes. We have another week left. I guess I was hoping for speedy replies, or at least a trickle, but absolutely nadda, apart from the one prompt answer.

I'm trying to stay optimistic and patient, but failing on both fronts.

Hit me with both barrels ladies. I need a reality check.

Also should I chase people up come the rsvp date?

I don't know why people always say to email or text as how on earth would you have those details?

from the class list we get every term? and the whatsapp group that the class rep usually sets up? how on earth can you arrange anything if you don't know who is in your class. clearly some schools don't do this, I just assumed all did.

No we don't get a class list and there are no WhatsApp groups and no class rep. Our school does not give out details of any children that aren't our own

Nope to both, but my dd has her parents evening this week, so I may well mention it to her teacher. I don't even mind being the one to take the helm, although my dh would actively discourage me, what with us having twin toddlers too .

Why would you mention it to the teacher?

We had a party for ds back in Sept. His is 15th. Party was 16th. 2 weeks after starting the preschool! Had to give them out 2nd day there so they had plenty of notice. But their start days were all staggered so the ones already there I have personally and the others that needed posted I gave to the teacher who just had to put their address on. I gave them til 11th to rsvp and incl my mobile. I think by the 11th I had 3 replies. The rest trickled in after that, right up to night before! Give them time. They should reply at some time.
