Anyone with car seat near Gatwick airport?

Shot in the dark I know, but I'm flying into Gatwick on this Thursday and my friend who's picking me up hasn't got a car seat. Is there anyone that lives nearby that we can rent from for two days? Or any other ideas welcome. Baby is 9months.

Rather than have friend pick you up you could book a taxi. Many taxi firms, especially ones who do airport transfers, will provide a car seat on request

Thanks that's a good idea that I didn't know about. Though I'm going to Cranleigh, so it will be quite a bit. On the other hand if there's anyone in Cranleigh with a baby seat my friend could pick up from there.

There are places online that you can hire them & pick up from the airport. I'm not sure how you go about getting it back to them though. Airtots is one place I think.

Or a taxi might be a good option as pp suggested.

You could buy a seat for £40 which is probably less than the taxi.

You'll need a stage one seat for a baby that young. I reckon she'll easily find one if she posts on her local freecycle page.
Mind you, most airlines allow you to carry one on board free of charge for a baby that young.

Yes imsorryiasked, it is looking that way at the moment! Buy a new one in Argos and sell it on eBay after. Thanks everyone for all your help and those who ones who pm'd me too 🙂

If you are flying I think you can take the infant carrier on with you can't you? So you could just take your own?
