Ds (rising 5) and DD 3 yr 4 mths are upstairs playing. I have really only let them do this on their own in the last 2 months, and i have made a rule not to interfere unless there are real screams or blood....but i am sure there are elephants up there. I am just glad my neighbour is deaf. But the noise is truly awful.
On the plus side at least the lounge and dining room are tidy and they are slightly quieter than if they were right beside me....

You'll get use to the noise! It's so good for siblings this age to have time to themselves, to invent their own games and learn to sort out their own spats.

Enjoy the rest of your house. You may even find that you actually finish cups of coffee now !

Your DCs are nearly the same ages as mine - 5.5, 3.10 & 2.6. They ALL play brilliantly together and my youngest couldn't wait to join in! Their role-play games are amazing! Enjoy!

dd1 (5.4) and ds (3.11) are about to start sharing a bedroom full-time. atm they top and tail every weekend in ds's room. they love to play and talk and talk after storytime. hopefully they will also remember to sleep! dd2 is too little to join in their play, but does obviously think they are the funniest people EVER as she is constantly laughing at them!

These are very good. Obviously not for tonight but buy now and you won't get caught out again.

You have all cheered me up no end.... I am glad i had them so close together but it does make for hard work...i was in the kitchen today, amd for some reason my rising five thought it would be a good idea to open a room divider & 2 stairgates , then tell me my baby was climbing the stairs...one heart attack alter found him wobbling on the top step, tv remote in han and very pleased with himself, with my other two giving him a round of applause for being a big boy. But the noise with the three of them up there would be unthinkable at the mo!!!

Talking of noise - we were reading a Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush book last night and on the 'how we munch & crunch' breakfast page there is a plate of bagels - which my 3yo calls bago's and which he said really loud when he saw them. Which I thought was so funny that we all spent about 10 minutes shouting 'BAGO' at the top of our voices. MY 5yo was speechless with laughter. (Then they all had the ubiquitous coughing fit). Makes me grin everytime I think of it. (The shouting that is, not the coughing).

Good job we don't have neighbours
