Did you still have to pay your listing fees? Or did they refund?

NannyL · 02/04/2007 10:09

why did ebay cancel nappy auctions? [confused!]

IntergalEGGticWalrus · 02/04/2007 14:57

Because of some wanky directive that nappies come under the category of "used uinderwear"

KatyR · 02/04/2007 20:17

[miffed face] ME!
SO irratating, I knew I had bought used nappies on there before, and then got this stupid email an hour before my listing ended.
They do refund listing fees etc.

The email I receieved:
We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following listing(s):

However, your listing(s) breaches eBay's Second Hand Clothes policy and has been removed. In accordance with our User Agreement, items prohibited by law or by eBay policy are not allowed on eBay. All fees related to this listing have been credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.

In general, sellers are permitted to list used clothing, as long as the clothing has been thoroughly cleaned according to the manufacturer?s instructions.

Due to hygiene concerns, eBay does not permit the sale of used underwear. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Boxer shorts
  • Panties
  • Briefs
  • Athletic supporters
  • Cloth diapers

Sorry horsemadgal not just horse! Thanks for finding petition, have signed it

mumfor1standfinaltime · 02/04/2007 21:35

I recently sold some used motherease one size on ebay. Never heard of this silly rule.
Surely it is no different to buying other used clothes on ebay? They are washed.

bobsmum · 02/04/2007 21:37

Just signed.

This'll be why the nappy lady is suddenly overflowing with used nappies!!

tortoise · 02/04/2007 21:37

I had reusable swim nappy listings removed too.

colander · 02/04/2007 21:45

the amount of shite they do allow on ebay you would think they would allow nappies fgs. Nothing helpful to add, just wanted to express my bemusement!

KatyR · 02/04/2007 22:12

I just sent off some horror used breast pads, will they ban these too?! Gosh I really am narked aren't I?!

horsemadgal · 02/04/2007 23:09

I really don't understand it, they must be losing so much money.

Gah. It's just too silly.

beautifulgirls · 05/04/2007 10:05

Presumably this is policy across the whole of ebay now, not just uk? If anyone can confirm that I can probably get a lot of signatures from friends overseas who would be very interested.

I have signed.
Thanks

horsemadgal · 06/04/2007 20:01

Thanks for link, just signed up.
Can't believe this, was just about to put mine on, good job I read this.
Were else can I sell my Nappies now?

ekra · 16/04/2007 09:31

I have signed the petition. I had two listings removed. I was not aware of this new (ridiculous) rule. I had listed 2 nappy wraps and those were removed. Er, they get as close to the baby's bottom as a pair of shorts worn over underwear!! Madness!

Nemo2007 · 16/04/2007 10:10

weird thing is that they are letting auctions run as have seen a few used nappies on there.

kittypants · 16/04/2007 10:13

i think it depends on make of nappy, how you word it etc.stupid rule.baby clothes get covered in poo, sick, food etc,so long as theyre clean it shouldnt matter.

paow · 17/04/2007 11:30

Hi, also had mine cancelled, anyway, they are here www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1910&threadid=307993&stamp=070417111928

Thanks

dcb · 20/04/2007 16:10
