Keeping hair clips in toddler hair

DD is 18mths and has hair that grows straight down into her eyes. She did happily wear a clip in her hair but has recently started yanking it out as soon as it's put in. The hair is getting in her eyes and irritating her, then she starts to rub her eyes. What age will they accept hair clips? Looks like I'm going to have to keep cutting the hair (very fast growing) in the meantime... Confused

Any way you can put them in while she is asleep so she doesn't realise they're there?

Fringe?

She sleeps on her tummy so she'd wake up if I tried lol

She has a natural fringe: had the hair that grew in a long point straight down her face until I cut it ha. Just grows so fast, like mine. Managed to draw it back on top of her head into a no snag invisible band a few minutes ago (she was busy chewing her hands) and she hasn't pulled it out yet... Maybe she can't feel it in that (top pony) style... I live in hope as I just looked for the hairdressing scissors and couldn't find them... Shock

We had to cut a fringe until dd was about 2 and a half when she suddenly developed an interest in pretty hair clips and wanted to wear them. I think when she saw other children wearing them at preschool it helped.

fucksake I already had these tiny invisible no snags (Claire's accessories) from days experimenting with plaits (me!); tons in a see through plastic zip bag. Should last DD a while Wink

I've also given DD a dodgy fringe Grin as she takes any hairclip, hairband out. I end up with the clips in my hair and then she tries to pull them off of me too!

IDoDaChaCha · 23/08/2017 16:26

Snoopy my DD was doing this too! Aagh. So far the snag free bands are working (or is it the prayers...)

I was just popping in to say loom bands, it seems I've been beaten to it Grin

Just discovered this morning that the easiest way to get a hair band in DD's hair is when she's busy guzzling her morning bottle: no fighting at all! Yay Grin
