... because their child is upset about something that they can't put right.

Dd1 took a red nose into school today, had it with her during assembly, which the parents were allowed to watch today.

After the assembly dd gave me the red nose to take home, and I took it without further thought.

Tonight in bed dd was sobbing her little heart out because in playtime all the other kids had played with their red noses and "I felt so left out, Mummy"

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

emkana it only gets worse...first break-up with boy/girl friend. OMG that's a killer. Not getting the job they wanted, crashing their car, failing exams....do I need to go on.

Your heart breaks for them everytime, you just wish you could kiss it and make it better.

Emkana, my DD1 got in a right state about what to dress up in today, then she came out in tears because she had lost her red nose. She is 6, how old is your DD?

Nearly 6.

Vulnerable age, it seems.

Even on non-dressing-up days, she is worried about what to wear, how to do her hair etc. I think there are a couple of girls who think they are style gurus and who feel the need to comment on everyone else's outfit. Grrrr.

My heart breaks everyday when my dd comes home and tells me that she ahs no one to play with at schoool. I tell her to go find a friend and she says she can't find them. I wish I could make her friends for her but sure this is life. She will have worse knockbacks.

Dd is feeling better about it today.

Until another thing comes along... sigh.
