Where to stay on Tenerife with a 7 yo, and any other advice

Hello lovely mumsnetters,

We're lucky and going to Tenerife this October but I'm struggling to work out where to stay. (We travelled extensively prior to DD, but never to the Canaries).

Ideally we want to be close(ish) to a clean swimming safe beach, and walking distance from a choice of restaurants, but we don't want to be in a party zone.

We're not obsessed with being off the beaten track, but prefer to avoid the most touristy parts. (If this was Cornwall, we're Polzeath, not Newquay, folk Smile )

Any advice on this and other things to do greatly appreciated. DD loves anything water based, hates walking.

Thanks in advance
Katy

Costa adeje is lovely. Siam park water park is very local my ds went when he was 7 and loved it. There's inflatables in the sea on Porto Colon and fanabe beaches. All along the water front you'll find trampolines parks and crazy golf. It's very cheap to eat and drink out something for everyone. Loro parque is in the north of the island but always trips there every day and worth a visit.
