Looking for the slimmest fit nappy+ wrap combo pleeeeese

Until now I've been using size 1 Bamboozles with Rikki wraps, but DS has now grown out of them and before I fork out a fortune in size 2 nappies I'd love a few opinions. I live in France where baby clothes are generally cut much slimmer than in the UK so it is really hard to find nice trousers that fit over cloth and allow him to sit comfortably without cutting him in half. He's in dungarees most of the time as a result but even these can be a bit of a squeeze, and although he's nicely chubby he's no sumo.

So I really need a very slim fit nappy (which is of course non-leaky, etc etc)

So what is, in your opinion, the trimmest fitting nappy and wrap combination out there?

Astrophe, there's nothing really better for overnight that fleece wraps (without a PUL inner) and TBH if there's not enough absorbancy to stop the fleece from leaking, there's not enough absorbancy to keep your baby dry, so it's worth looking at it that way round :-)

Otherwise if you want to go for PUL, the NEW style Tots wraps are great - don't use the old style overnight - and both Mother-ease wraps are excellent with shaped nappies (I've already mentioned the issue of a folded nappy with the airflow).

Hope this helps, sorry it's rushed, DS is causing havoc and destruction and I need to sign off..

Maisiemog, I find the ptit dessous bamboo lasts easily 3-4 hours on my LO and she is a pretty heavy wetter. I always use the booster in it though (it can be detached). The only thing i have noticed is that it can feel slightly clammier than other nappies when wet. I think the bamboo is meant to be more absorbant than the toudou as well.

Thanks Clairy. I guess from your comments that you didn't get that in the UK? [interested face]
I also saw the velour toudou on Kittykins. I have also just realised it has a microfibre soaker - interesting. Hmm!
That was the one that I heard wasn't that good for a heavy wetter. I got confused.

thats emma, will perhaps buy a tots fleece cover and try it with the hemp I have, then if thats no good will buy huggles.

Do you sell these? Will check your site when DH gets paid next!

haven't read entire thread so sorry if anyone has already recommended this, but the petit dessous is fantastic.
in fact, it's so slim that ds has to wear dungarees when he has one on because his trousers fall down lol.

no compromise on absorbancy either. would really, really recommend them

Ooh great, thanks hairymclary, I've just ordered some P'tits Dessous (eek they're expensive, even here in France) so glad you think they're good. Doubt the trousers will fall off my chubby chap though .

I've got some wbbs to come too, so I look forward to testing them all

I got mine from Little Rainbow Nappies (in the UK) but couldnt get the one i really wanted (the fleece lined one) here!

maisiemog · 27/02/2007 20:38

HairyM - which p'tit dessous have you got? I was looking at their website and there seem to be a few. The one at Kittykins is the toudou, but there is a bio and a techno and a bamboo, or something like that??

Astrophe · 27/02/2007 23:37

these petit dessous - how do they compare with huggles re absorbancy? Could you use them for night? They look lovely.

frenchleave · 28/02/2007 10:45

I'm expecting my P'tit Toudou Bios to arrive any day now, I'll post when I've tried them out. Can't compare to Huggles though, as I've never tried those.

Their website tells you which nappies are suitable for night use or day only. The English is a bit hit-and-miss but at least some info is translated!

I'm still a bit confused about which is which and where they are available. They do look lovely though.
I was wondering if anyone wanted to leave a review for theirs on my nappy review blog here to help deconfuse other people and tell more people how good they are. :O)
That would be great if anyone has time.
I will change the heading to just P'tits Dessous, so that a review could be for any one of the various types.

Astrophe · 28/02/2007 17:07

I left a review last night for weeneed maisymog

Astrophe · 28/02/2007 17:07

uuummm...weenees

hairymclary · 28/02/2007 20:59

i got mine from kittykins, so it's whatever one they stock lol

I thought they had sent me the wrong size when i got mine because they look so tiny, but they fit fine, they're just so slim and small looking, so don't be scared when they arrive lol

maisiemog · 28/02/2007 22:09

Apostrophe.
