A sling

starsinyourpies · 05/11/2016 06:17

Nappies & clothes! Other than that you don't need much to begin with, somewhere for it to sleep but we borrowed a co-sleeping cot.

By the way I gave all three because my subsequent children didn't know they weren't my PFB and needed very different things to be content.

sebashocked · 05/11/2016 06:22

Sling for me too.

NapQueen · 05/11/2016 06:23

Giant muslin squares. Swaddled dd til she was at least 6mo in them and dc2 also uses them as a comforter.

For dc2 the best thing I bought was a Tiny Love 3 in 1 Napper. Wish I'd known it existed for dc1!

Baby grows with little fold over mittens/scratch mits attached to the sleeves.

Sling

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 05/11/2016 06:33

A really soft rug.

BastardBernie · 05/11/2016 06:34

Sleepyhead, sling and no lamp for the nursery!

JedRambosteen · 05/11/2016 06:36

Equipment: decent muslins and one of those inflatable rings so he had some support when he was first sitting & didn't keel over. (The muslins are still used for cleaning windows/glass as they don't shed fibres and give good shine.)

Toywise, a set of brightly coloured plastic stacking cups with different sized holes in the bottom from M&S - they were used for bathtime waterplay for years by both of my kids & sometimes in the garden sandpit too. DH and I used them for hairwashing at bathtime so they doubled up as equipment.

Heatherbell1978 · 05/11/2016 06:36

Sleepyhead, more muslins than I thought I'd need, sleeping bags, sling and a dummy.

elvesareneverhappy · 05/11/2016 06:37

Ewan the dream sheep. Helped all 3 of mine sleep through and they still love him.

A sling as well! Kept my arms free so I could get on with stuff.

lovelyredwine · 05/11/2016 06:40

Other than nappies and clothes, Muslins and a sling (reflux baby).

BusterGonad · 05/11/2016 06:41

Muslim cloths without a doubt!

ZeroDarkHurty · 05/11/2016 06:42

A wrap-style sling for the newborn and small baby stage (so comfy when they're little and great for late afternoon nap time if they're cranky) and a soft structured carrier like an ergo for small baby and beyond (the one I used for my six year old is still being used with my 21 month old).

A Bluetooth speaker/sound machine to play white noise through when he wouldn't sleep.

A co-sleeping bassinet like the Arm's Reach - straps to the bed so they're in their own space but right beside you.

SwaddleUp zip up swaddle thing when he wouldn't sleep. They have their arms up by their head (look like snow angels in them) but aren't able to whack themselves in the face.

ThinkOfTheMice · 05/11/2016 06:48

For baby:

Muslin squares ;120cm)
Babynest
Basket (I know everyone says they're useless but we had a moba one and it was fab.)
Bath - used daily still at 13 mo, up on the countertop has saved my back! Ditto changetable
Easywalker mosey pushchair - can't use a sling so this has been amazing

ThinkOfTheMice · 05/11/2016 06:52

Oh and what I wish I'd bought (for a ds who turned out to never bloody sleep) was a co sleeper cot and a swing thing.

If we are lucky enough to have no.2 we will be getting them!
