What is the best way to appreciate kids?

My niece is pretty close to me and the other day when I met her she showed me this wonderful drawing she made of a Santa Clause. She is just 10 years and I was really shocked to see the perfection in the picture. But, at that moment I could only tell her that it's nice and I really loved it, although I wanted say many more. I really wanted to encourage her and let her know that she could become a real artist some day. But, now since the moment is gone, I don't know how I could get back. How can I really appreciate her for her work in more better way?

Pick out particular things you like eg I like the colour you chose for that, or the detail on that part - show you're really noticing it. Don't worry I'm sure she doesn't need too much gushing!

You can always tell her you were thinking about how amazing her drawing was and you think she has real talent I dont think the moments past at all.
