Hi all,

I know this has been done loads of times before but I can't seem to find the threads when I search.

Just the above question really. Ds is 20 months and I hear "more singing mummy" a lot at bedtime so need to expand by repertoire!!

Any suggestions??
Tia!

Puff the magic dragon, Alexander Beetle (melanie sacks/a a Milne),The Fox (folk song), down by the station, doe a deer, there's a hike in my bucket, daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow, the marvellous toy, my favourite things (sound of music) ... I learned them from my mum

And Streets of London was one my mum sang. It always made me sad as a child.

I'm learning guitar now actually in the hope I'll feel less self conscious about singing to the next one. I have already learned Lullaby by Dixie Chicks which is lovely.

5 little ducks is our bathtime song. At bedtime When Goldilocks went to the house of the Bears, Dingle Dangle Scarecrow and Trasna na dTonnta ( Irish song). My dh is a great singer but doesn't know the words, I'm the opposite know loads but tone deaf!

Pig mine seem boring compared to these! Plus I've never heard of most of them.
I do twinkle twinkle, mockingbird, and baa baa black sheep. Also away in a manger but only in December!

PurpleAquilegia · 06/08/2016 09:04

Ha! Away in a manger as the 'go and eat' song really made me Grin! I think that will always be the 'away and mangia' song to me now. Grin

I used to sing anything by the carpenters when my ds was tiny ! I built up quite a repertoire

dementedma · 06/08/2016 09:10

Coulter's Candy ( Scottish) over and over again!
Grandma always sang "go to sleep, my baby.."

GastonsPomPomWrath · 06/08/2016 09:20

We do the baby's goodnight song from three men and a baby BlushGrin

I also do La La Lu from Lady and the Tramp.

f1ddlesticks · 06/08/2016 09:28

Daisy Daisy
Frere Jacques
Twinkle twinkle

In that order, twice each!

But DDs all time favourite is Gershwin's Summertime which I've sung to her since she was a baby!

Loads of inspiration here though Smile

Aww these are lovely - I stick to the ones my grandma sang:
Golden Slumbers
Molly Malone
Go to sleep my baby
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers (despite not being religious!)
Once upon a dream

ImogenTubbs · 08/08/2016 09:39

At the moment my favourites are:

Dream a Little Dream
Every Time We Say Goodbye
Wouldn't it Be Lovely and The Street Where You Live (from My Fair Lady)
What a Wonderful World
Somewhere Over The Rainbow
You Don't Know Me
We'll Meet Again
And quite a few more...

Bedtime songs are a big thing for me and DD!
