Hi

I have a thermos one and food is lukewarm by lunch time. In sports direct today I saw a Stanley food flask 0.4l which is perfect size for us, which claims to keep food hot for 8 hours. Reviews look good. Any thoughts on whether it's worth investing in one?

The stanley ones are good. The most important thing with a food flask is to pre heat it before putting the hot food in this will make a huge difference to the length of time it stays hot. I pour in boiling water put the lid on and leave for at least 5 mins before emptying and quickly putting the hot food in.

My dd can't manage to open any flasks -we've tried lots. I've had to give her my (£££) Contigo coffee cup. It keeps food/ drink beautifully hot til lunchtime.

We bought 0.4L thermos ones from Tesco. They had bigger ones before but if not completely full they cool down by lunchtime. We're very please with the new ones.

This one. But it goes in the dishwasher which is a huge bonus for me.
But I've never replaced it for my coffee!

Thanks for your replies.that's interesting about going cold if not full. I half fill our 0.4l one as my ds has a small appetite...Don't want to fill it more just to chuck it at the end of the day...maybe they'll have to wait till they're bigger and eating enough to fill itGrin
