I've just got a new phone and my ds (7) asked if he could have my old one. Its only a cheap pay as you go so I said OK as long as he doesn't take it to school.
A few people have raised their eyebrows at me when I told them. Is he too young?
I quite like the idea that when he goes out with his dad or any other family members that he can call me whenever he wants, independently iyswim.

10 but she doesn't use it much now. It was my old one and she was staying at her nans in the summer for 2 nights 250 miles away. So i could text her goodnight and send her hugs.

i actually don't have a problem with a 7 yo having a mobile, which suprisises me, though I worry, completely irrationally, about the health effects

when i was a kid we had walkie talkies...its kind of the same, isn't it?

(thats not true actually, we had tin cans, but our neighbours had walkie talkies...)
