Following on from Coddys boiled egg comment!

According to my Mum I had sugered water as a new born, had a crushed rusk in my bottle from 4 weeks, was put to sleep on my tummy and was potty trained by 12 months and walking at 9 months.

Your turn!

My Dad gave me whisky in my bottle as a baby to try to get me to sleep (didn't work). Weaned at 6 weeks. Mum didn't breastfeed as she said no one did - was given tablets to dry up the milk.

No lasting effects other than 10 years of problems with my stomach...

my mum was way ahead of her time...
bf us all for at least a year (still had a big tub of powdered milk she had been given in the cupboard "why would I give that to a baby?")
demand fed (though she didn't call it that of course, I once asked her how often she fed us and she looked at me as if I was quite mad and said er, when you were hungry.
co-slept
was extremely scornful of women putting cereal in bottles (lazy mares! Shock)
did baby led weaning aka "couldn't be arsed with purees" so just put chunks of bread and veg and meat in the highchair tray
carried us around on her hip all day
had four babies at home in her bath and bed without any "interfering doctors"
she is 75 by the way
i think she should write a book
