see before i was pregnant i always moved out of prams/pushchairs way - let them get on/off bus first, held doors open etc.

i thought everyone did.

it is only now i realise i was in the minority.. our doctors and libraries both have doors which pull open. after much struggling of standing at side of pram, reaching over pulling door open, running back behind pram and pushing in before door shuts i managed to get in. and do you think anyone helped me on my way out?

also at the shopping centre, i don't know if i am wrong to think this, but it is much easier for someone to dodge a pram and continue walking in a straight line without much inconvenienve. however it is quite difficult to keep changing direction and manouevering a pram around various people who insist on walking directly at it!

it is like oh i've got a baby i should not go out with him until he can walk by himself!

cars have stopped to let me cross street before which is nice, but that i don't really expect tbh!

i took the flimsy chicco buggy out today for the first time. i hated it. with every move I did the buggy did as well. ds was probably feeling rather sick by the time we got from the car park to the restuarant! he just didn't look comfortable in it - he is only 6 months old and it doesnt really lie back and his legs were dangling over the edge. dcousin gave it to us cos she was concerned a pram might be a bit inconvenient when shopping but i will be going back to it asap...

people with prams always walk so slow - get out of the effin way - your not the only people in the universe move your little wrinkly baby - cos the universe doesn't revolve around you and your matching nappy bag.

One benefit of children not being allowed out in public would be that the rest of us could park in the empty Parent & Child spaces!!

EXACTLY!

Erm, I think I might disagree about this one, I thought the world had a diferent look while using a pushchair, it may have been just good luck but everybody seemed to go out of their way to help me.

Having said that, it was not better than when I used to go out carrying a small puppy!

Actually, I remember quite a bizarre conversation in the street with an elderly couple:
Them -AWWWWWW. He is LOVELY!!!! how old is he???
Me- [smile proudly and say...] 5 weeks old
Them - Really??? he is quite big for his age!!!
Me- Are we talking about the baby or the dog?
Them - Oh sorry! the dog of course! can I hold him?
