Hi, I'm a new mum to a 10 week old girl, I'm successfully breastfeeding but havin problems with forceful let down / oversupply. My daughter will start to feed and my milk will literally spray out, this causes her to choke so I have to take her off and press a cloth over my nipple until it stops, which is a nightmare, I need 3 hands. Does anyone else have this problem or a better way to deal with it? I can't feed in public as I'm scared my milk will shoot out

Ahhh happy memories.

I had the same thing with DS2. Did the block feeding too, so fed from the same side twice which seemed to work once I learned about it. I also tucked the muslin under his face and just let the milk dribble out of his mouth if there was too much.

I was planning on expressing and introducing a bottle at 2 weeks but ended up waiting another week to try and get the overproduction under control. It's great to have 200 ounces of breastmilk in the freezer ready for returning to work, but not at the expense of gigantic death star sized boobs!!

He was such an efficient nurser though, from the second he was born, and I put it down to that, he could have extracted milk from a stone. DS1 had no fucking clue what he was doing!
