What is the right temperature for a baby, and when is it considered a temperature or a fever? And at what temperature should you take action and what action do I take? My baby had his injections today he seems got and I took his temperature which is 37.5c if it get any higher should i take action? Any advice on this would be amazing I'm very worried he won't take his bottles and normally he drains them

Yep, I'd call OOH

I would still call the out of hours and get a plan.

If he's having calpol four hourly, then you need to find out what to do if the fever come back after the next dose, as you won't be able to give anymore after that for 12 hours.

Don't worry about calling them, this is exactly what they are there for.

How is he this morning?

Generally, I agree with TakesTwoToTango's advice. A fever in isolation is the body doing a very important job and on their own, are rarely a concern for concern. However, under 6 months, you should act slightly differently. As I said last night, over 38 with a less than 3 month old and over 39 in a less than 6 month old and you should always take medical advice.

Tiny babies and fevers are a very different thing to an older baby or a toddler with a fever.

We all worry when our babies are unwell or feverish whether you're 17 or 47. Having a child is a great leveller. Smile

I'm not sure tbh. Can you ring out of hours and ask them?
