DD is 3.5yrs and always has wet nappy in the morning....when should I start night training?

How do I know when she is ready? Should I lift her or not...I really, really, don't want to do this (already knackered without getting up in the night to change bedding!) but I don't want to miss the boat. Any ideas/opinions?

I think at 3.5 she's still quite little. iirc the current thinking on lifting them in the night is that it doesn't really help, because they are asleep when they pee anyway, so they don't learn anything from it. From reading threads on here, general consensus is that it isn't a case of training, but rather just allowing nature to take its course - there is some kind of chemical or hormonal (can't remember which) development which needs to happen before a child will be dry at night. hth (btw my dd is 4 and nowhere near dry at night and I have friends with kids of 5 or 6 who are only just starting to be dry at night)

Hi - I'd personally say not ready - what's the point of stressing both of you over a nappy at night.

dd is 4 and in same position, asked hv she said we dont worry till she is between 5 -7!

all what franke posted about the hormone.

we tried with dd at 3 as she had been dry day time for 7 mths
But night time was no go, then suddenly 2 months later she was dry in the mornigns and crucially started to wake to ask to wee.
We cut down evening drinks, took her before bed and she has ben dry since then
So she wil let you know basically
