Well i am crap because:

  1. i always forget to do reading with dd
  2. i am always on mn or ebay instead of watching them/stopping their fights
  3. i work 3 days a wk so dd gets palmed off on to my mum after school
  4. i dont care what they are fighting about, it just pisses me off big time that they fight..
  5. I dont bake cakes, i barely cook in fact
  6. Dont change the sheets often enough
  7. i resent having to make mumsy chit chat in the playground about trivial crap things
  8. i NEVER help out at school/ CARE about the PTA
  9. i always forget to cut their fingernails and toenails
  10. both kids have dodgy haircuts done by me

im a crap mum because my dd1 (2.5) was a pain in the arse last night about going to bed (v rarely happens so when it does it really hacks me off!) and after 2 hours of her being up and down wanting a poo or the light on or different covers etc i STOMPED vv loudly up the stairs and SHOUTED in a vv loud voice SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO TO BED she went though and i didnt hear from her til 8 this morning!

Think I surpassed Slack Mum record by forgetting to pick DS1 up from his first day at big school . They had to ring me and take him to the school office while I came to get him. In my defense, I was in the first trimester of DS3 pregnancy....not that I feel guilty or anything ...

because although I love them to their very marrowbone...I can't help myself but screech like a banshee at them on a daily basis.

Oooh me too Huw.

Maybe it is too much exposure to Llanelli?

PartridgeinaRustyBearTree · 01/12/2006 22:54

This all reminds me of one of the nicest things DS ever said to me ( he was 16 and a typical teenager)I'd forgotten to get bread for packed lunches & I said 'I'm a really crappy mum' He said 'You're a great mum - a crappy housewife, but a great mum'
I'm sure this applies to most of the posters on this thread - bad at housework does not mean bad mum.

HuwEdwards · 01/12/2006 22:57

2nerves, oohh, if only I had that excuse, am sadly in the Midlands (in fact wherever you are, you probably hear me in the mornings....

'DD1 brush your teeth nooooooooowwwwwww
'DD2 I hope you have your pants on...'

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 01/12/2006 23:24

but Huw you were brought up in Llanelli? non?

Or are you not the REAL Huw Edwards???

HuwEdwards · 01/12/2006 23:27

I am, I have a glittery tie, a fake face tan...an..an...well everything..

2nervesnapartridgeinapeartree · 01/12/2006 23:29

All indicative of a childhood in Llanelli.

Phew thought I was talking to some kind of wannabe then.

Skribble · 01/12/2006 23:30

I could have written the OP.

That doesn't make you a crap mum it means you are normal. My kids are fabulous so that means I am a fantastic Mum, doesn't it.

HuwEdwards · 01/12/2006 23:41

2nerves ...phew...
