Girls better than Boys?

I've got 2 DS's but ever since I first got pregnant I've sensed a girl bias. Everyone seemed to want girls, then girls viewed as easier babies, better developed toddlers, generally cuter etc.

Even felt people felt slighty sorry for me having 2 sons.

Is it there or am I paranoid?

How can one type of baby be 'better' than another, they are all individuals. People are just showing their own prejudices/ignorance when they say this sort of thing. Ignore them!

Tinkerboo - i have 2 boys and am now totally biased towards boys
There might be the odd time when I wonder what it would be like to have a girl, but if she was like me, she'd be a scruffy tomboy anyway. I do get some negative comments when they are running around and being boisterous but IMO boys are like puppies - they need food, love and lots of exercise, and sometimes they take up a lot of space, are smelly and make a lot of noise! Just enjoy them and don't worry - whatever sex you have you'll encounter stuoid, ignorant people who wind you up...their problem not yours

I know fullmoon, I feel the same. I was complaining about people prefering girls when really all the time I was secretly thinking boys are best.Totally irrational emotional response, don't judge me for it. If you saw my boys you'd understand.

Visit to Ikea, about 28 weeks pg. Checkout lady asks what we're having and (instead of saying 'none of your business') we reply 'a boy'. Checkout lady promptly goes into transports of delight - 'how lovely - a son and heir!' and to dh: 'Bet you're really proud'. Odd. As is, IMO, the reverse prejudice.

When I was pregnant a woman actually said to me, I hope it isn't a girl, girls are horrible. Also when I was pregnant a man said to me, his friend has 5 girls, they were so disappointed that they never got a boy. Must be hard to be the fifth girl. So what did I have, a girl of course and I was pleased as punch and she is wonderful.

It takes all kind I guess. Some people thing boys are loud, rough and noisy. Others think girls are bossy, spiteful and whiny. They are both wrong. I ignore silly comments like that. I have 3 boys now and get those comments, too.

Someone said earlier people just feel they have to say something and that's probably true. So we should probably try not to get so wound up about it. Hard tho.
People just generalise from their own experience to'girls are like this...' 'boys are like that...'

Probably abit guilty of this myself.
