Preferably free! (But happy to pay a few quid if awesome!)

Preferably with their full title (picky I know) because I seem to be so, so bad at searching the App Store - can never find what we're looking for!

More interactive the better! HELP! And TIA. Going to be THE LONGEST FOUR HOURS OF OUR LIVES...

Glow Paint and Glow Colouring are good fun.

Bee-bot might be good, might be a bit grown up?

We used to play a car journey game where you had to make a meal from the lorries we drove past (eg. A hovis lorry and a lurpak lorry would get you toast and butter). You could do it with adverts at the stations the train stops at?

We also played "who will be the first to see" which is like I-spy but for fast moving journies. If you vaguely know where the train is going then you will be able to rig it a bit (who will be the first to see a cow? Who will be the first to see a supermarket?).

Find an old bag - I used one of my old handbags for DD - and stuff it with tiny things - some of their toys they haven't played with for ages / bits from around the house etc and include a small box with a lid. You could also put in one of those magic slate thingys from the poundshop - mine loves scribbling on it.

If they get bored with what is in the bag you can play 'what's in the box?' with them - they shut their eyes and you put something in and give clues for them to guess. Take turns.
