This is lighthearted just to clarify before someone comes and tells me that swapping babies is illegal Wink

2am - 3am is party hour for my 8 month old. I wouldn't mind if he just stayed in his cot happily but no, I'm invited to the party and my attendance is compulsory Confused
He's not hungry, ill, in pain or need changing he just fancies a roll around the cot and a quick chat with me. Super.

Will he ever sleep through the night?!?

I can't wait until he's a teenager, I'm going to sit on the end of his bed and talk nonsense at him for an hour at 2am and see how he likes it!

My 14 yo DD didn't sleep through until she was 10 months old and my 9 week old DS is also showing signs of being a night time party animal.
Meh!

I'm in the same boat with my 9 month old DD. We are just hanging out in my bed atm... Where of course she's instantly gone sparko, taking up roughly three quarters of my side of the bed and all the pillows.

duzzlightyearsmum · 07/04/2015 03:32

Join the queue! DD 6.5 months has never slept more than 3 hours in one go! We're currently on night feed number 4 since bed at half 7!

karigan · 07/04/2015 03:56

Likewise with my 6.5 month old despite her only falling asleep at 11pm. I think the last time i had more than 3 hours unbroken sleep was September. Including 3 very short naps (around 15min) during the day my dd sleeps for about 7 hours in every 24. She also so f*@king cheerful the rest of the time i could cry.

Rinkydinkypink · 07/04/2015 04:27

Lol...kids don't sleep! Anyone that says their child sleeps is lying Wink

Ds was 4 before he slept through.
Dd is 2 and were getting maybe 2 nights a week sleep through max.

Kids that sleep GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinHmmConfusedSad

m33r · 07/04/2015 04:32

My LO is 3 weeks. I have been told things will settle between 4 and 6 eeeks. I am therefore pretending that all PPs are not true and that as of this Saturday (4 weeks) DS will sleep loads more

yougotafastcar · 07/04/2015 04:47

I'd like to swap my 3 year old DS.. just got up to him for the 3rd time tonight, between feeding 12 day old DD.
Is there a crying smiley?!

Ilovenannyplum · 07/04/2015 05:23

Haaaaa, m33. Yes. He will absolutely sleep through the night then Wink

Whilst I'm sorry you are all having shit nights sleep, I am glad I'm not alone! One more FB post about any of my 'friends' perfect babies that "sleep so well" and "put himself to sleep, he slept for 12 hours and he's only 1 month old, Aaahhh mummy's soldier" and I'm going to chuck the laptop at the wall.
We're up again for a 5am party, woooo! Hmm

good job he's cute

@yougot
You can have a medal too!

But seriously though, do you have a favourite? as if I were you, id be considering selling one to get a couple more hours sleep Confused

DD (15) never did sleep through probably until she was about 4.

Just look forward to the teen years, the earliest DD is awake is 9:30 and then she normally doesn't get till midday Grin

UnderTheDeepBlueSea · 07/04/2015 05:34

*get up

yougotafastcar · 07/04/2015 05:36

Oh, the facebook posts about sleeping children are the worst! Especially when friend with 4 month old tells you what you should have done. Yes, because I haven't tried EVERYTHING in 3 years, I actually like being awake all night don't you know?!

Ha selling them, they'd soon be returned, I think they're broken Wink

I hope you get to nap when he does later!

TheBookofRuth · 07/04/2015 06:19

My eldest didn't sleep OR nap. 8 month old DS showing every sign of being the same. I too believe the "sleeping child" is a myth made up by other parents as part of an evil plot to drive me insane. As if the sleep deprivation wasn't already doing that.

StrawberryMojito · 07/04/2015 06:30

You lot have rubbish fb friends...thanksfully the only ones talking about baby sleep on my news feed are very much in line with this thread.

I've got early rising ds aged 3 and 3 month old dd who, with every passing night, is sleeping worse than the one before.

Ilovenannyplum · 07/04/2015 08:04

By some kind of miracle, he's still asleep now, normally he's up by 6.30. I've just had to go and check he's breathing. He is. Obvs.
I think I've had what the childless ones call 'a lie in' Grin
Routines now buggered right up but I don't care!

Gro Blinds I bought are finally proving they're worth the £££ I paid for them
