What's the course, more imprtantly is it degree, or tertiary college?

if it's not a degree (ft students get to claim but believe me it's fiddly ) I believe the routine is to apply to the college itself for help via their access fund, this is best done ASAP as these funds are finite for the academic year.

COLLEGE FOUNDATION CERTIFICATE IN LAND BASED STUDIES ? ANIMAL WELFARE OPTION

part time. 2 days work (paid?)
2 days academic

Yes if FE the college Access Fund will help - there may be other things you can claim through this too - the admin staff are great to get to know and will listen to your individual case... I had a huge amount of help and support from the Student Support staff when I was in FE... they're there to help

Where are you doing it? My sister did similar before her Animal Science HND, she is now a qualified vet Nurse (more stable after kids) but worked at Secret World in Somerset for a while, always had a pouch of orphaned bats or shrews round her neck in those days LOL!

Good luck with the course, very of you- love rescuing animals (cats my speciality) but terrified of snakes so was always a career no-no

Don't give up, you could always look at a bit of voluntary and then taking the course on when it does suit you. I know when Sis qualified, it was her experience she lacked, and most of her colleagues (and superiors) were less qualified than her, but had experience.

Can you not e-mail the college? they're going to have a website.

Oh muma3 don't give up - I've had all sorts of interuptions and big life changes whilst I've been studying but just keep on persevering... if it's what you want to do - do all you can to grab at any chances you get.

Good Luck
