Ds1 is very sweet but sometimes makes me feel very bad.

He's a proper people pleaser, especially for me. If I give him a choice about something he will often pick the one he thinks I want him to, rather than give an honest answer IYSWIM.

Ds1 can be quite challenging, is 13 and whilst he doesn't get into trouble as such, can be quite self-centred. It sometimes seems like DS2 is either making up for DS1's behaviour or doing his best to be the complete opposite of DS1.

Anyway Ds1 is a cadet. Dh is an instructor, so they will both be away for 10 days in the summer leaving me and DS2. We are starting to think of ideas for what to do and looking forward to it.

Ds2 was looking forward to going to cadets when he's old enough - in Sept but has now told me he doesn't want to go because he wants our holidays together and because he doesn't think it's fair if I get left home alone.

FWIW, I wouldn't mind at all and it's completely his choice if he wants to go to cadets or not but is it normal for an 11yo to worry about his mum like this?
