Woken up this morning with tonsillitis. .. well it looks and feels like it anyway. I am breastfeeding my 6 month old and am concerned about giving it to her - but have also read about my antibodies passing onto her too... Has anyone breastfed while having tonsillitis or does anyone have any advice please xx worried.. will book a docs appointment today too.

Keep feeding! Any antibodies your body makes will be passed to your baby.
Also, if you need antibiotics, there are breastfeeding friendly ones you can take.
Hope you feel better soon!

Keep feeding, keep your fluids up and see the GP.

Have a read on patient.co.uk - most tonsillitis will get better without antibiotics so you may not need them. Then have a chat with your GP if you feel unwell enough.
Hope you feel better soon and your little one lets you get some rest today.

Keep feeding ! Get anti biotics just watch out for if feeding gets painful because you can get thrush on ur breast from anti biotics easy to fix and for baby if they get it in thier mouth just sore! X

Keep feeding. But seriously, go to the doctor and look after yourself. I'm no longer bfing (ds is 4) but was given antibiotics for tonsillitis today so know how you're feeling. It was all I could do to get dressed this morning, let alone look after a baby. Do you have plenty of support?
