TV's in bedrooms - what age?

I have a couple of friends with similar aged kids (my ds is 2)who have bought their children tv's for their bedrooms. Just wondering what age is considered appropriate? I must admit I have often thought about it in the hope that it will get me even half an hour extra sleep on a morning! Ds wakes at 5.30am every morning.

never. we too have one tv and plan on keeping it that way. (dh is less hardline on this than me, but I am quite passionate that one tv is enough)

I held out on my strict no TVs in bedroom rule till my DCs were at uni. It was only when they came back during the holidays that I let them bring their teles with them! They thank me for it now, but as children they thought me very unreasonable not to allow a TV in the bedroom.

Philomytha - I'd rather a TV in the bedroom than a computer. And especially no to internet connection in a bedroom.

We have our computer in the living room, so everyone can see what anyone is doing. Obviously at the moment DD is too young to have to be concerned. But no to internet is closed away areas for children.
