Bedtime routines - toddler and new baby

Hi there

I have a 3 year old and a 10 week old who I'll soon start introducing to a bedtime routine. I know what I'd do if I had just one child but 2?!

If you've got kids of similar ages, Can you share what you do at bedtime in your house please?

Thanks in advance

Are you on your own or can DH help?

In our house DH does baths, I do PJs, DH does stories and I do feeds (for the baby). All in tandem rather than at the same time - we have four children from 10 years to 14 weeks.

I have DD (3.1yo) and DS (8mo). On the nights DH is home to help we do:

I bath both kids together.
I get DS out the bath, into pjs and give him last feed sitting on the loo (DD is a big bath lover so enjoys having time yo herself in there!)
Then DH takes DS to bed - reads a couple of stories and puts him down while I get DD into pjs and read her stories.

When DH isn't around, DD "helps" put DH down (sits and looks at story books while I read to him and put him down)

11mo and 3yo.

DH runs bath and bathes 11mo.

Afterwards I bring up 3yo and take soggy 11mo to get into Jammies.

DH bathes 3yo (we used to bath them together but 3yo complained about being splashed by 11mo)

I take 11mo down for milk whilst 3yo gets dried

3yo and DH join us and 3yo has cup of milk.

Both kids bed at 7.

It's usually more chaotic than it sounds Grin

I have a 3 yr old DD and a 16 week old DS. When I'm on my own we do as follows, starting about 6pm:

All go upstairs
I undress DS ready for his bath
DD will get herself into pjs (she has baths in the day as it wakes her up!)
Run the bath and put DS in (I run a very shallow bath and DS lies in the water splashing around)
DD uses the loo and I brush her teeth while DS is in the bath
Get DS out of the bath
Set DD up with books in bed while I dress DS
Do story in DDs bed with both
Settle DD and take DS back to his room for feed

Back downstairs for a cuppa at about 6:45!
