PLAYPEN - worth it or a CAGE they fight to get out of????????

DD starting to get the hang of crawling so... am thinking about a playpen but there seems to be one company supplying the market with one product - the Babydan hexagonal one. They really do have the monopoly!

Is there anything larger anyone can recommend?

Can't see DD lasting 5 minutes in the Babydan one.

Quootie, i got the one from Bambino World in the end (the medium size) - it's really good - can recommend - and such good value. Thanks for finding it for me. Did you get one in the end?

got mine! Its great!!! Hes in it now with ALL his toys in it. Means I can go to the kitchen without turning round and seeing DS sneaking in aswell!

MarsLady · 26/10/2006 14:23

Trust me.. the baby dan is big enough. My DTs loved it and spent many a long hours.... moment..... in there (esp whilst I was MNing) lol

QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 14:23

got the XXL, but 2 bits arent on it... ive done it like a long rectangle, so its against a wall. I got mine via auction, rather than buy it now, and got it for £83, inc. delivery.

Iklboo · 26/10/2006 14:24

DS loves his playpen. He can either mess about with his toys, or lie down & get comfy or stand up and practice walking up and down the sides shouting "mamamamamama"

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 14:28

brill!
i just love it! easy to build too.
i think i got XL - 5 sides and a gate. is yours 7 side bits?

i've just put dd's travel cot up in living room.
i change the toys in it every few days.
at last i can get on with housework knowing that dd's safe
was worried i was only person who did this, glad i'm not alone!

QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 14:30

6 bits, and a gate, so, 7. DH did it in a few mins with no grumbling!

QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 14:30

sorry, 8 bits, just counted.

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 14:31

and here

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 14:59

ooh, fantastic!!!
i was expecting links to gates!

is that one in 2 different formations or did you buy two in the end??
and that's ds2? Awww.

OP posts:
QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 15:02

same one

DS1, only have the one!

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 15:06

oh i see, i've just realised what you meant about DS sneaking in, you mean following you into the kitchen! i thought you meant DS2 was sneaking into pen to play with DS1! nevermind...

yes, i played around with hexagonal and rectangular but i have wood floor and rectangular cutoff of carpet for DD so she doesn't bang her head tooo hard, thus rectangular playpen is the way to go it guess.

anyway, love the pic. was that easy to do - post them on web or you have to have MSN account?

OP posts:
QuootieSpookypie · 26/10/2006 15:12

had MSN account. they were in my pictures folder of my documents, and i pressed something about copying to web, as i tried to upload them on picture trail or something, but it took ages. microsoft did it all for me, i just picked the pics i wanted to show.

KellyKrueger1978 · 26/10/2006 15:19

those playpens look fantastic. My playpen is my lifesaver normally, but dt2 has learned to climb out don't suppose anyone knows where I could get one 5 foot high to stick all 4 of the kids in?!

MissyBabee · 26/10/2006 17:11

well i am very impressed quootie

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 07/11/2006 04:13

just get a stair gate and put it at the door - makes one giant playpen and much cheaper than buying a play pen that they will probably be able to climb out of anyway.

threebob · 07/11/2006 08:07

I just put ds in his cot with some books and toys if I wanted to have a shower.
