Well, I think pleats are cheaper and you never know when you may need a lot so I would go for that.

hairymclary · 11/10/2006 21:49

i agree with pleats. balls are always too small

alibobble · 11/10/2006 21:50

Yeah and rolls are even cheaper. You can make your own cotton wool balls! I spent a good while doing this to entertain dd when she was a newborn as it was something that I could do and have her lie on her mat next to me while I was at it. Depends how flush you are I guess!

Pleats are more adaptable. Make sure it's 100% cotton as mixed fires can be harsh. Obviously organic is best, and quite reasonably priced...

PrettyCandles · 11/10/2006 21:51

Definitely pleats. Cheaper and far more convenient as the balls are always too small and fiddly, especially when wet.

pleats it is, thanks.

I'd try both - we never got on with pleats, but did fine (still do fine!) with balls. The size of the balls varies with the brand, ime.

QueenPeaHead · 11/10/2006 22:09

neither, I always used those extra big square cosmetic pads.

they don't moult so much and don't get stuck on extra thick poo

QueenPeaHead · 11/10/2006 22:10

oh and they are v cheap in costco before everyone tells me that that isn't the "value" option
