On a board I used to use, the 'done thing' was to post a 'thank you' to everyone who responded to your post, or at least a blanket reply when everyone had finished replying. I don't see it much on here though, is it not done much here?

Thanks

Hi crayon

i believe a blanket thank you would be ok , or a specific thank you if particular person helped you lots.. just any acknowledgment really...

TwigTwoolett · 05/10/2006 18:45

thanks if particularly needed are great

if you ask for someone to help you find something online then I think blanket thanks at end of thread ie thanks all have got it are great

otherwise don't worry about it too much

I guess helping others out if you can if you've received help from the board is another thing.
Etiquette's basically about "do as you would be done by" so if you want people to respond to your cry for help then you've gotta help others too, iykwim

I guess I don't want to post so many thank yous that I keep bumping my post to the top ..

Yes always depressing to be a thread killer!

anniebear · 05/10/2006 19:36

are you not going to say thank you lol lol

bubble99 · 05/10/2006 19:39

I usually post a TIA (thanks in advance) if I'm posting a question.

A general 'thanks all' afterwards will usually suffice.

OK, here goes ...... thank you all for your advice!!
