My toddler and I are suffering from major cabin fever

I work from home and my 22 month old DS is with me. However, afternoons have become really long since the clocks changed. He wants attention (fair enough) and so I cant get any work done as he constantly brings me books and things to read for him, and pulls my hands away from the laptop! In the summer he'd play happily in the garden with the door open - not an option now.
I've accepted I can't work in the afternoons (I can get everything done in the morn so thats ok) but what on earth can I do with him to get us out of the house? Every day? I love him but there's only so much book reading and block stacking that I can stand....

Can you look into childcare for afternoons?

Playgroups? Park?

We go out every single day, even if only for half an hour to splash in puddles in the rain, the fresh air really helps with that pent up energy.
Things we do are leaf collecting, chalk drawing, pavement painting with water and a paintbrush,stick collecting...
Not goin to lie and pretend I find it riveting all the time but once you get into the habit of doing it it gets much easier. We also do playgroups twice a week and library once.

Work from home with a toddler!!! Wow.

I'd take him out. I'd rather do it in the morning though - not fair on him to be stuck on every day.

Haha - its not easy. I'm self employed and I have a nanny for 2.5 hours every morning, Mon-Thurs. He goes out with her every time she comes, to the park, playgroups etc.
I live in the country which makes it slightly harder as apart from walking, every activity involves going somewhere by car.

You've got to get him out of the house - every day. Park or playgroup.

If you need to work then you need childcare - not fair on him otherwise.

I'm a SAHM and agree that afternoons can seem long. I tend to go to some sort of class/group/activity or visit friends in the morning (as pp said, there aren't usually that many toddler groups on in the afternoon). My DD is still having a two hour nap most days (she's 26 months) and since the clocks went back I'm finding the afternoons more difficult because it's getting darker earlier. If we go out it's usually to a park, feeding ducks, kicking up leaves and the library is a God-send when the weather is not so good. I've also started cutting up pictures from magazines and we can happily spend an hour doing glueing and sticking.
