Naming of the parts

Another of those 'been done many times before' threads coming up.

6yo ds has twigged that our family name for privates is not what other people use, and is particularly intrigued that we use the same name for male and female privates. Well, actually, he twigged this ages ago, but know he wants to know, if a boy's is a willy, what is a girl's?

So what do I tell him?

tell him the technical terms, and then tell him people often use other words for them - tell him some of those words, and say you just tend to use x.

There is no right or wrong thing - let him choose - as long as his choice is acceptable to you.

why is it we can all say 'willy' with glee, but the girl's bits are so much harder to say??? The f word, I don't know, I just hate it and all the other horrors, like flower etc.

I have boys so haven't had to worry about this.

willy, willy, willy, willy. No problem with that at all!!
