My baby is full of bogeys.

My DS is 6 weeks old and for as long as I can remember he's always been sneezing and snotty.

He is no longer snotty but now he constantly has bogeys in both nostrils. They really occlude his nostrils and affect his feeding and sleeping. Sometimes I can get them out using the fingernail of my little finger (I have long nails) but in general they are too high up.

We use saline basal drops before every feed but it makes no difference. After all, what is a drop of water going to do to a hard bogey?

Does anyone else have experience of this or any tips or advice?

My baby has been the same since birth. The HV suggested it helps clear their system of fluff etc. I use rolled up tissue. It gets them out pretty easy! I bought one of those nose pipette things but I've never used it...

My mum used to suck them out of my brother nose Confused disgusting, but very effective!

You need an aspirator, soften with drops then suck. Strangely satisfying to see the snot and know they can breathe clearer. Babies nasal passages are small so will often sound congested even if not v snotty.

Apparently you can expect 8-10 colds in the first year so well worth the investment.

I like the sound of an aspirator, where can I get those from?

Although it doesn't say to, I sterilise after each use. Make sure you rinse before any stuck snot sets (eww)

Use baby sterimar spray...its the best spray throughout the day into the effected nostril, the thick sticky hard dry boogey loosen and you'll soon see them at the tip where you can pull out with your little finger nail or even you can use a bobby pin or John freida nose picker stick thing you can find in boots.
