Should my 4 yr old be forced to call me Mum?

A few weeks ago my son suddenly stopped calling us Mummy and Daddy and started using our first names instead.
It is rather sweet at the moment and we haven't stopped him.
I wonder... are we setting ourselves up for some future problems? Are there unforseen consequences as he grows older? Should we make him stop now?

Would appreciate your thoughts and experiences

My DS calls me by my first name and it really does not bother me, it does seem to bother other people though.

dd1 went through a phase of about 18months when she referred to us by our first names ,we didn't mind at first but it did get annoying because people would comment on it all the time.

My children went through a phase of calling dh and I by our first names, in fact, very rarely, they still do. It didn't bother me at the time although people did stare at me and obviously thought I was a very trendy liberal type, which I am not. I don't know why they started calling us by our names and I don't know why they stopped (we never asked them to) but I come across this quite often so I think it is a common phase children go through, perhaps when they realise that you have a name other than "Mum" and think they will try it out for a while.
