Sling advise: ds 4 weeks old & need my hands free to look after other 2 dc

Hi, TIA for any advice, I sure sling topics have been done to death on here but I never needed one before so never read any of them. I have a front carrier and at a last resort have been putting baby ds in that when I have to bath the other two or tea time. But I recall these are not to be used for such young babies, bad for the hips? But I really need him strapped to me so I can get on; he is very unsettled evening times, just when the other two need me most. Dh is never home before bed time so I need to cook, wash up etc.
I know there is a whole world of slings out there but i know nothing about them. I would not be able to get to a sling meet at the moment, getting to school in the morning is challenging enough. So can any one recommend one where baby goes on the front suitable from birth. I have a babba sling but his head feels too vulnerable in it to do any jobs.

Close caboo. Widely available online, I got a good price 2nd hand off eBay. Works like a stretchy wrap but pre-sewn so u tighten it with rings. This makes it incredibly easy to use.

Or, any stretchy wrap (moby etc).

From 3 or 4 months depending on baby's weight u might find these not supportive enough and switch to a woven wrap or a soft structured carrier. But for 4week old the above 2 would be best. Plus u can keep the sling on u, it's not bulky, and just pop baby in and out as needed. Hope that helps!

I would highly recommend a wrap carrier like a moby. I used one of these for both boys until they were 6/7 months. They both used to sleep really well and we're very content. They look tricky to put on but you get used to it very quickly and there are a lot of positions they can be slung in.

After that I used a connector. I still carried my two year old it. They can be used for newborns too.

I used a close carrier (caboo) for DS until he was 4 months, really rate them. Now I use a woven wrap but also have a connecta. The close or moby are really great for wearing at home. If you make sure you have them nice and tight and the baby high you can get on with most stuff. I cooked, cleaned, worked, did my make up, sat on the sofa with a cuppa etc with DS in the close.

I have an ergo and love it. DS went in it with a newborn insert and was very cosy and snug.

It a buckle type sling so really easy to use. I can still carry him around in Iyar almost 2. You can put them on your back or side which he loves (and is great in airports!). They go up to 4 years I think

There are loads and loads of Facebook sling groups. I highly recommend www.itsaslingthing.co.uk as a library to try a couple out before you part with a lot of money.

I've had a Baby Bjorn (bad), Rose & Rebellion (loved), Boba 3G (love and still have). I've also tested a Ergo (loved it and wold have probably got one first if I had known of them) and a Scootababy (great concept but my DD wasn't keen). The Beco Butterfly also looks lovely.

The Boba and Ergo are fairly similar also the Ergo can do hip carries and is the only one suitable for tiny's (the others are 4 months plus I believe)

I've got the boba 4g and it's really good. We started with a close carrier and moby wrap and I thought I'd be using those for a couple more months, but invested in the boba when lo was 3 months, whilst I still had some money to spend. I've used it exclusively since I first put her in it. She is very comfortable and I find it comfortable and convenient. Most of her naps are in it, as I find that more convenient than trying to put her down (and keep her asleep), whilst dealing with my nearly 3 year old.

Forgot to add: the boba 4g is suitable from birth.

I used a wilkinet from birth and a wrap sling from about 9 months for front carries. Wilkinet less bulky than a wrap and no buckles to fiddle with. DS2 was in mine most of the time from 3 days old until he could entertain himself - you can do outward facing carry with it which he liked. I've never got on with stretchy wraps (moby etc) as they don't feel secure. Ergo good but expensive.

I use a Baby K'tan. It's a stretchy wrap, but you don't have to wrap it so it is much easier to use. I can get my lo in and out quickly, which is great.
