When did your DC1 (and the parents) get used to the new DC2?

My oldest is 2 and my second daughter is 6 weeks old, and I'm curious when people felt that the dynamic shifted from 'there's a new baby' to 'this is our family'. We're doing OK so far, judging from what I hear from other mums and on here, but I do remember with the first there was a shift from adjusting to having a baby to feeling like this was now regular life. I can't remember when that happened though! I hope my question makes sense.

its gradual but I remember things settling down at about 8 weeks. dd2 is 5mo now and I dont think dd1 (22mo) remembers life before her really. they are both snuggled up in their cots next door tonight for the first time, until dd2 wakes up in about half an hour when she will come in with us...
