Now i know you are suppose to wipe front to back but do you or your dd's do it?
I know i dont and haven't taught dd1 or dd2 to do it that way.
Just wondered what others do.

It is more wiping yourself after a poo that is the issue I think.

peanutbutter · 23/07/2006 21:20

I do front to back. Don't have any dds.

marthamoo · 23/07/2006 21:20

I don't have girls but I don't wipe front to back, I wipe middle to front. Am I really going to divulge that on the www? Oh, what the hell...

I do and of course tell dd to but I think she finds it difficult to do TBH, so she does it in two parts : one wipe front to middle, then with a wet tissue another wipe from the middle to the back sort of works for her if she's at home. Not sure what happens when she's out and about though

bubblez · 23/07/2006 21:22

Front to back. If I do slip up and forget I get irration down there.

I wipe DD front-to-back, she does middle-to-back no matter how much I tell her not to (she's only 2.8 though). For myself middle-to-front or middle-to-back depending on...............need, to be polite Front-to-back feels weird and cricks my arm in strange ways, not convinced I get the job done when I try it that way.

Can't believe I'm posting this!

serenity · 23/07/2006 21:33

should be DD does middle-to-front, don't trust her with the other side yet.

Actually, as it kind of fits in with this thread, what age do you usually start allowing them to try and wipe after a poo? DSs were a lot older when they potty trained, am I being too squeamish in not letting her try?

tortoise · 23/07/2006 21:40

I still wipe my 3 yr old dd's bum.I like to be sure its done properly or she starts complaining of her bum hurting.

I always do front to back and have taught DD to do the same, apparently its to stop germs from your bum getting to your "ladies bits" and causing infections. Thats what I was told!

NomDePlume · 24/07/2006 09:41

Yep, front to back to prevent infection
