i knew after i had ds2 that i needed another. so we had one! and it's been great. it's REALLY hard work. in theory it's only 50% extra work, but in practice it's more like extra 150% lol

i reckon age is in your favour. you can have another, and once they're all in school you'll still be young enough to go train/retrain/whatever!

doesn't matter what other peoiple say :)

I've got three, like you I had a girl first followed by a boy. I would say completely ignore what other people say, you are able to financially support your family and are in a stable relationship, your age is irrelevant. The only important consideration is what you and your husband think and want.
I had all mine by the time I was 30 so not that much older than you and have never regretted having a 3rd.

DD3 is only 3 weeks old so I'm not an experienced mum of three, but I say go for it. I am enjoying it so much third time around, it's wonderful.
And why's your age an issue? Being 24 is a massive plus to having another I'd think, you'll only be 30 and they'll all be in school and you can get on with whatever you want to do for decades uninterrupted by tiny babies!

thank you for your replies, we've decided we will be having a 3rd just not sure when, as ds is still in nappies and will be starting playgroup next September (dd has now started full time school and settled in well) what age gaps do you have??

20 months between the 1 and 2 and two and a half years between 2 and 3 so had 3 under 5 for a short time. Hard work to start with but they ended up all very good friends. A girl first and then 2 boys.

bundaberg · 13/11/2013 18:07

I have 2yrs 10 months between ds1 and ds2.
Then 19 months between ds2 and ds3.
If I was doing it again I'd have had a bigger gap between 2 and 3.

Pregnant with number 4 now and ds3 will be 4yrs 10mobths when baby is born

If you want and can afford three then have three. It doesn't matter what others say, it's your life.

FWIW I had 4 DCs at your age, two of each. I get a lot of "you don't look old enough" but never had any negative comments.

I have three aged 8, 5 and 1. My one year old for the last six months is the most difficult child I've had......he makes it so hard to give the other two proper attention. Yet he is so gorgeous and elicits such tenderness from his big brothers. It is bloody hard but I don't think you ever regret one. And he completes us!

Mumof3xx · 13/11/2013 18:50

I have 3 and I Am 25

Dc 1&2 are 16 months apart

Dc3 is 4 years younger than dc2

Thingymajigs · 13/11/2013 18:59

I am 32 and pregnant with ds3. My other two are 13 and 10 which is a perfect gap for us but pretty odd for a lot of people to imagine. Time is definitely on your side if you decide to wait or have them close together.
