What 'sounds' do you have in your home all day with a baby?

I know this may sound like a weird question but I'm just wondering if I'm depriving my DS of sound. We don't have the television on at all during the day. Should I have the radio on all day, or nursery rhyme CD's or something? Or is it fine that he just hears my voice and me pottering around during the day when we're at home? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Avoid the television as long as you can! Just you and your voice is fab but there is nothing wrong with a little music when you both feel like it. I dream of such peace!!!

I like the radio on but not all the time.
I like a bit of background music.
Some songs now remind me of when ds was a tiny baby. I just have to hear them and it transports me right back immediately and makes me a bit tearful but makes me smile at the same time too. Smile

i like having the back door open for birds singing etc, or even better, being in the garden itself

but i think its a modern day thing to always have/want noise

I wouldn't recommend the radio all day.My youngest has a moderate speech and language delay and our SALT said that the radio being on all day didn't help.
Young children aren't able to filter noise like we do and don't hear it in the background,it's full on for them and makes concentrating on the speech of others harder.
By all means have music on,but not all the time.

Oooh, sounds lovely and peaceful. If it were me I'd keep it that way.
