When do toddlers stop napping?

Dc1 is 21 months and generally sleeps 7.30pm-6am at night and 2-2.5 a day nap. Expecting dc2 soon and really relying on dc1 to keep napping.

Generally speaking how long do they keep daytime napping (without it affectin their nighttime sleep?)

Thank you.

about 2.8. If she falls asleep in the car she won't go down till gone 9!

Disney films are your friend at the dropping nap stage, just make sure you pick one you can bear to watch over . . . and over . . . and over again. I can recommend the Jungle Book (on offer at Sainsbo's right now, fact fans). Wrap him/her up in a blanket and plonk on sofa. Hour and 15 mins peace for you.

DS is 2.9 and shows no sign of stopping napping. He regularly sleeps for 1.5 - 2 hours and still sleeps for 11 hours at night. But then during the day he is like a Duracell bunny so it's no surprise to me.

3.7 year old still naps daily for at least an hour, maybe two. She's like a bear without them and night sleeping isn't affected by it.

I'm dreading the non nap days. But there's no signs yet so I'm hopeful this will continue until she's over 4.

Great tip MrsOak

DD was 25 months and DS 36 months.

My Ds stopped napping in the house at 2yrs 9months which coincided with putting him a toddler bed - he just wouldn't stay in it for naps! Then we did naps in the car until he was just over 3 but it started to take ages for him nod off (cost a fortune in petrol!) and also started affected him settling at night so stopped that aged approx 3yrs 2months. He is now 3yrs 8months & very occasionally has a nap in the day - but he will be up until 9/10pm+ on these days!

DD quite suddenly went from napping for around 2 hours to no naps at 2.6 and it was awful! She got really tired in the afternoon (as did I) but just refused to nap until it was too late in the day.

Now at 3.2 we still have issues sometimes as she's taken to waking up really early, then gets tired after lunch but again refuses to nap. (And she used to love her sleep, I don't really know what happened...)

DVDs are a life saver in these situations!
