Is anyone starting midwifery at Huddersfield this year?

I just wondered if any one is starting midwifery at Huddersfield this September.

No but had both my babies there!!

thanks for that, i've put Fax down as my choice of hosp with Hudd 2nd. If I get there, I'll make sure things start running smoothly. Hope all babies and you are now in fine fettle lass.

It'll be interesting to hear what the midwives really think about the move to Halifax!

I had DS there and DD at home (although scans etc there). We live at the far end of the district so getting to the hospital in rush hour in advance labour was a nightmare. Halifax is miles away.

Same here Bozza - Barnsley or Dewsbury are nearer for us and if I was going to have children now i'd certainly use one of those two. There's no way I'd want to risk trying to get down Elland bypass or more worryingly if I had to be taken in an ambulance. It just seems like a disaster waiting to happen and I think most women will prob choose to be booked into Halifax just to be safe.

Barnsley is definitely our nearest. They have a birthing unit at Wakefield but if you end up needing intervention you have to go to Pontefract. Luckily for me my nice, cuddly home birth was my last.

Really intersting comments, I'd never thought about having to go down the bypass. However, I have often thought about trying it with a pair of skis on in the winter.

The winter will be an issue for me, coming from the red rose side.
