when he got so bleedin loud he could be heard all round the house Grin

I never used one at home didn't think there was any need, ds had to have one when in hospital as he was pretty ill and kept stopping breathing but even when he came out we decided not to have one at home. I would get rid of it now, you may panic the first night and be all ears but there is no need for it now.

Whenever you are confident you will hear if they are ill/frightened/need your attention.

We live in a three-storey house so still use ours when we are on the ground floor. Ds is nearly three.

crazydazy · 13/05/2006 09:10

We still use ours and DD is 6 and DS is almost 4, we just like to know straightaway if they call out for us because they share a room and we try to limit the noise so they don't wake each other up.

Katemum · 13/05/2006 09:22

When it stopped working at 6 months.

Oblomov · 13/05/2006 09:24

After a few weeks.
A month or so.
I could and still can hear every time he even mumurs.
So no need.
Depends what kind of house you have and how good your hearing is Smile

FairyMum · 13/05/2006 09:24

Never used one. Just went in to check them every 5 mins as babies Blush

ghosty · 13/05/2006 09:26

I couldn't use one either ... I spent all my time wide awake staring at the light display and checking the volume to see if it was working or not. We never lived in a big house so I could always hear them ...

SparklyGothKat · 13/05/2006 09:27

I had one of those breathing monitors with DD1 and DD2, stopped using them when the girls started to pull themselves up in the cot and it kept going off...

crazydazy · 13/05/2006 09:28

My hearing is terrible but DP has good hearing so we don't really need it but its mainly because they share a room that we still use it. I don't use it when DP is not in because I don't like the way it picks up every single noise and am always running up and downstairs.

MummyTo1PlusBump · 13/05/2006 09:40

thanks for your help, i can hear every sound he makes so i think its time for me to take it away. thanks again :)
